Oliver Jensen had no intention of colliding with Helene Lucia that rainy Monday night. However, fate had other plans. The well-educated, charming, often angry city boy meets the narcissistic, entitled, often judgemental runaway who has never settled down in her life, moving from city to city because of the pure boredom that radiates off of the cities she visits. Or so she says. But Oliver is determined to let her see the true beauty of city and that a single place could keep a girl like Helene utterly and deeply satisfied. With only a month to impress the critical and mystifying Helene, Oliver must try to convince Helene of all the great things his hometown of New York City holds, even if it means losing her to her instinct of running away.

She was stuck at her aunt and uncle's vacation home for the summer. Will came from money and high expectations. Lilah was a tornado of unpredictability. Will had never met anybody like Lilah Tov. Twenty year old Sylvia Wilder is not the beloved hero of New Chicago. But she doesn't consider herself the villain either, villains try to destroy buildings and lives, and Sylvia isn't rich enough to pay for all that, plus her mother would kill her and send her off to who knows where if she even tried. Then there's keeping herself hidden from all the people who would attack her without a second thought for no other reason than to be better than her. Sylvia happens to be the Sorceress, who is registered as a First Rate Hero, but isn't the most lovable hero of the city. And her otherworldly powers only serve one purpose for her (other than getting in the way of her daily life), to make sure that her annoying twin brother (Stephan the Superior, he had a bit of an ego) is avenged. But the villain who hurt her brother isn't evil, he's also a First Rate Hero (Captain Powers, the hero everybody loves). And Sylvia's not known for being the forgiving type. Can anybody have their very own happily ever after? Or will the need for revenge and hatred tear apart all old and new relationships?
